After the St Etienne show I traveled south with Laetitia to the small city of Aubenas, situated on the famous l'Ardeche river in the Rhone-Alps region. The gig was organised by a local arts collective who had been active near Lyon until fairly recently, before a move to more mountainous climes.
The venue for the evening was an old beer shop, its curved stone roof and cool interior proffered an interesting setting for the show. Laetitia plumped to play first and after some excellent home-made pizza, she and her violinist played an excellent set which went down very well with the mixed age-group, local crowd.
Raymonde Howard unleashed.
Crooning Lost Harbours
Afterwards, there was much disco.
