News and Gloom Folk

The sun is attempting to shine through winter-grey clouds and Autumn has encrouched upon us, as it seems to have done nothing but rain for the last few weeks (albiet with the occasional sunny burst), I've been recording lots and making plans. Liminal Noise Tapes will be releasing a new batch of cassettes for some of my favourite underground bands of the moment including our recent tour-mate Kostoglotov, hopefully there will be more to follow too. Some of Lost Harbours recent recordings will be meeting the light of day soon, as always I'll keep you posted, but it's quite a batch of recordings being released over four releases on several different labels. Emma and I are also recording another three EPs worth of material in various forms, plus working on the next album.

I recently jested about doing a Black Metal covers album on Facebook, which prompted a lot of 'likes' in a very short period of time. Whilst I wasn't 100% serious, there are elements of that sound creeping into some recent recordings, so keep your eyes peeled for a teaser track.

The album we released back in July can now be found on Amazon and in various HMV stores across the UK, plus other independent stores. A big thank you to SRD for implementing that distribution and to Steven in particular. We're still receiving a few reviews for it too, with this one from Gloom Folk (a web-resource for all your melancholic folk needs) being the latest:

We also have a local show in Leigh on Sea on the 21st of December in support of Jason Steel. It'll be held at the Squeeze Bar, so come along and say 'hi'. I hope to have further news of more shows in the UK and perhaps abroad in the next few weeks.
