Budapest Show 18/07/2012

Wednesday nights show was underneath a Backpackers Hostel in a brightly coloured basement full of curios. The line-up was a mixture of extreme noise, gentle drones, experimental guitar and expressive vocalisations; firstly TH Anathol devised a super intense set from Bjork songs, streams of consciousness and Biblical phrases.

TH was followed with a drone set by an artist whose name I didn't quite catch, then  TG Noise  took the stage with an array of effects pedals and the most brutal extreme noise set I've witnessed for years.

Then we played.

Lastly Toth Kina Hegyfalu, a noise rock duo that reminded me a lot of Ninni Morgia and Silvia Kastell; abstract guitar with occasional Blues motifs and Metal riffs, nursery rhyme piano and banshee howls, guttural throat noises and incantations.

A big thank you to Kalman of HaviZaj for feeding us and putting the show on. We'd love to return at some point, Budapest is a very special city that only showed us a tiny proportion of it's delights.
