Birthed from a series of home recording sessions over late Winter / early Spring 2011, these songs were inspired by some field recordings I made in Berlin, plus hand crafted bird callers purchased in Budapest, Barcelona and Southend-on-Sea. The sessions were mainly attempts at recording guitar improvisations or instantly composing a song and then working around the initial idea. The lyrics for 'Feed the birds' came from a single line in Gabriel Garcia Marquez's novel Autumn of the Patriarch, where the act of hand feeding song birds honey to allow them to sing all day.
